Homework: 60 minutes or more

 

This program allows students to explore an area of study that is not offered within the LCHS curriculum. The student meets with an LCHS mentor-teacher daily. Independent Projects are one semester and earn from 1-5 credits depending on depth of study. The student presents his/her research/project in a showcase at the end of the semester to the mentor, the counselor, an administrator, plus others. Students can take an Independent Project (I.P.) as an additional seventh period or it can count as part of the six period day (with parent, counselor and administrative approval). Sign-ups are at the beginning of each semester (Fall and Spring). Guidelines and applications are available from your counselor.
